Molded Pulp Packaging Manufacture

Molded Pulp Packaging is mainly made of paper pulp,

sugarcane bagasse and bamboo pulp,

which is 100% recycled

and degradable.

What is Molded Pulp Packaging?

Molded Pulp Packaging is a type of packaging made from recycled paper and pulp products that is molded into a desired shape using heat and pressure. The molded pulp is made by mixing wasted paper or sugarcane pulp with water, and fillers to form a slurry, which will be poured into a mould and shaped under high heat and pressure. The resulting molded pulp packaging is a versatile and sustainable alternative to traditional plastic packaging, with a cost-effective and eco-friendly solution for a wide range of applications, including food packaging, retail packaging, industrial packaging and agricultural packaging and etc.

One of the key benefits of molded pulp packaging is that it is 100% biodegradable and compostable, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic packaging. In addition, molded pulp packaging is light weight and provides excellent protection, making a practical solution for packaging product that need to be transported or stored. And also, molded pulp packaging is cost-effective, as it can be produced with recycled paper or pulp, which can also reduce the need for virgin materials.

Molded Pulp Products Features

Pulp molded products are often made from recycled paper or other biodegradable materials, making them a more environmentally friendly.

The durability of pulp molded products depends on the type of paper pulp and the manufacturing type, most are more durable than many other types of biodegradable materials.

Moisture Resistance
Moisture Resistance

Pulp molded products can be treated to make them more moisture-resistant which is an important feature for products that will be exposed to moisture or liquids, such as food or even water container.

Pulp molded products can be customized in terms of size, shape and design, making them a versatile option for many different applications.

Water Proof Test for Molded Pulp Product

Some of the molded pulp containers asked for water proof, they may used to put some liquid or slurry, so we will need to add some water proof agent during pulp molded production. Waterproof testing of molded pulp products involves determining the product’s resistance to water penetration and its ability to retain its structural integrity even when exposed to water. There are several methods that can be used to perform this type of testing. From this video, you will see the pulp container that can load the water for few days without any leaking.

Molded Pulp Wine Shipper Drop Test from 70cm Height

Drop test with molded pulp wine shipper is a test that measures the ability of a molded pulp wine shipper to protect the whine bottle inside during transportation and handling. This test simulates the potential impast that the wine shipper might face during shipping and handling, and helps determine the level of protection provided by the pulp shipper. From the video, you will see the shipper and packaging box dropped from a set height of 70cm, and the test will be repeated several times to make sure the shipper and boxes are strong enough. For different usage of the products, it maybe necessary to perform additional testing, such as vibration testing, to assess the shipper’s ability to withstand the various environmental conditions it may face during shipping and handling.

Molded Pulp Dry Press and We press Difference

Molded Pulp Dry Press and We press Difference

Molded pulp dry press and wet press are two different techniques for producing molded pulp products.

Dry press: The dry press technique involves pressing dry paper pulp into a mold under high pressure, typically using a hydraulic press. This method is commonly used for producing dense, strong molded pulp products, such as trays , clamshell, and most dry press products use recycled paper or pulp, the resulting product has a low moisture content, the surface is more rough and relatively stiff.

Wet press: The wet press techniques involves forming wet paper pulp into a mold, and then applying pressure to consolidate the pulp and remove excess water. Most wet press products use sugarcane and bamboo pulp. The resulting product is typically softer and has a higher moisture content then dry press products. Wet press products are commonly used for applications where a more flexible, softer material is desired, such as tableware, cosmetic packaging inserts and etc.

Emboss and Deboss Treament on Molded Pulp Products

Embossing Treatment

Embossing is a process where a raised design is pressed into the surface of the material. In the case of molded pulp products, this can be done by using a metal or plastic die that is heated or pressed into the pulp. The resulting design is raised abobe the surface of the product, giving it a unique texture and appearance.

Debossing Treatment

Debossing is the opposite of embossing, where a recessed design is pressed into the surface of the material. Similar to embossing, a metal or plastic die is used, but the design is pressed into the surface of the products, resulting in a lower area compared to the surrounding surface.
